The Hunting of the Snark

Recommended in the latest edition of The London Review of Books, dated 25th January, is the current Methuen hardback edition of The Hunting of the Snark, illustrated by Mervyn Peake. Describing Lewis Carroll's nonsense poet as 'the greatest in the English language, a mock-epic masterpiece of deadly serious silliness' it goes on to describe the illustrations as being 'beautifully reproduced, with a selection of previously unpublished working sketches'.
