Regular readers of this blog will be familiar with the energy and detail which Sebastian used to keep us up-to-date with any news of his father's work, particularly during the centenary year, 2011. His sudden death has been a great shock to his friends and family but the promotion of his father's work will continue under the guidance of his brother and sister, Fabian and Clare. I worked with Sebastian on the blog and will continue to add details of events and new publications as well as any other news when it becomes available. Alison Eldred

I read your father's book during the summer holidays, and as a fan of Tolkien and of Brian Sibley, a couple of questions occurred to me, which Brian wasn't quite able to answer: did your father and Tolkien ever meet? Did they read each other's work? And if so what did they think of each other's work?
